What does Respect look like? 

  • Feel, sound and look  
  • Play ground 

Respect looks like in the playground, demonstrating kindness to others. Helping others in the school community, and being a role model to the younger kids. 

  • Home 

One way to be respectful at home is to clean up after yourself, and always put your toys and items away. Respectful actions are demonstrated when family members honor one another. 

  • Assembly

In assembly, showing respect looks like sitting up,listening to the speaker. Showing respect in assembly is singing when the New Zealand nationality song comes up, to respect the song and sing proud and loud. 

  • Adults 

You can show respect when you talk to an adult. Always say polite things. When talking to an adult, always use “ Please, “ thank you,’ sir’ and ‘ma’am’ are great ways to show respect. 

  • Your friend

When showing respect to your friends, you always support them, and love them for who they are. You can also show respect to your friend by being thoughtful, making time and treating them the way you want to be treated. 

  • Yourself

What Does It Mean to Have Self-Respect? Self-respect affects all aspects of your existence. It implies that you are proud of who you are and that you are willing to embrace your defects or imperfections. You don’t feel obligated to be flawless, and you’re willing to forgive yourself for past mistakes.
