Learning how to use Google Forms

Today in cybersmart we learned to use Google forms. We created our own Google form with only one question, and 2 question options. The class made one, and we all answered it. Here is a form i created about, ‘ Would you rather be blind or deaf for the rest of your life “.

Try out my form Here. Would you rather be blind or  deaf for the rest of your life?

Making the mBot move in a square shape .

This morning us year 8’s had tech. We used forward blocks and turn left block. We had to adjust the power and time on the turn left until we got it to move 90 degrees. This is called Iteration, when you make small changes to your code to improve it. When it was correct, we out in a repeat block to do the same actions 4 times to make a square.

Online school assembly

Room 3 welcomed us into their assembly with some upbeat music. My classmate, who was assisting Room 3 Destiny, started us out with a prayer. Following the karakia, Saia gave us a warm welcome and established some ground rules for witnessing the assembly. We received the awards and Mrs. Raj gave a briefing at the end of the assembly.

Swimming Evaluation

During the 5 weeks of swimming, we have learnt so many new things we can do when we are in trouble, such as free style/floating, butterfly stroke, backstroke, survival backstroke and different others.

Today’s swimming lesson we went over what we learnt and did each style in a circle.

Each day we learnt a different swimming skill everyday, me and my friends learnt each skill very quickly. We enjoyed learning different skills and seeing how funny it was trying to learn as we go.

We had so much fun learning different swimming skills. In our Glenbrae School Pool we are not allowed to dive or bomb into the pool because it is shallow.

Melepalu and I enjoyed learning how to use different styles, we learnt so much.

What does Respect look like? ( Sound, feel and look )

What does Respect look like?

  • Feel, sound and look
  • Play ground

Respect looks like in the playground, demonstrating kindness to others. Helping others in the school community, and being a role model to the younger kids.

  • Home

One way to be respectful at home is to clean up after yourself, and always put your toys and items away. Respectful actions are demonstrated when family members honor one another.

  • Assembly

In assembly, showing respect looks like sitting up,listening to the speaker. Showing respect in assembly is singing when the New Zealand nationality song comes up, to respect the song and sing proud and loud.

  • Adults

You can show respect when you talk to an adult. Always say polite things. When talking to an adult, always use “ Please, “ thank you,’ sir’ and ‘ma’am’ are great ways to show respect.

  • Your friend

When showing respect to your friends, you always support them, and love them for who they are. You can also show respect to your friend by being thoughtful, making time and treating them the way you want to be treated.

  • Yourself

What Does It Mean to Have Self-Respect? Self-respect affects all aspects of your existence. It implies that you are proud of who you are and that you are willing to embrace your defects or imperfections. You don’t feel obligated to be flawless, and you’re willing to forgive yourself for past mistakes.

Te Whare Tapa Wha – Recount

Te Whare Tapa Wha – Recount

One of New Zealand’s most beautiful beaches I’ve been to was a black sand beach. This beach is found on the West – side Coast of Auckland.

My family and I went to a black sand beach to go fishing. It was so exciting because I’ve never been fishing before. I loved being able to share this experience with them and it helped my taha whanau wall. When my family and I got to the beach, we were all very hyped because the waves were big and massive.

After a while of driving on the sand, we finally found a spot to camp. After setting up our tent. My cousins and I went for a walk around our camp, and we found a beautiful waterfall nearby. Walking up the hills and back down was a real struggle, it also helped my Taha Tinana. Once we got back to camp, to help my Taha Hinengaro wall I was finally able to relax, and stretch.

The first thing my Uncle wanted to do was set up he’s fishing machine. So how this works, there’s a boat that goes out onto the sea, and attached to the boat is a line, and that line we have to hook the fishing hooks into the line. We left the fishing machine out for an hour. After an hour we bought the fishing machine.

While bringing it in there were a lot of fish coming in.

Holding an alive fish was weird, it was also so shiny and smiley at the same time. While watching the fish come in, omg! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, it was the biggest fish I’d ever seen. It was a big snapper. My whole family was amazed at what the fish looked like.

Spending time at the beach really helped me with my Taha Wairua and my Taha Hinegraro, I was so relaxed listening to the waves crashing and listening to my family having a good time all together. Having to spend time at the beach with my family helped me with my Taha Whanau as well.
